the alien = ronaldo's nickname way back in when he came from psv eindhoven into barca. crippled one = garrincha (was born with both legs bent horribly inwards at the knee. Walked funny, but was the most explosive player from a standing start of his generation. Actually had better dribbling technique than Pele himself during their time together in the national team. Probably the most selfish player in history of football, would try to dribble past the entire opposing team up the wing. Won the 1962 World Cup for Brazil after Pele injured his groin. Was mostly injury prone later in his career because of his knees. Famous for his womanising ways in SambaLand. Check out the brazilian movie about him. Some farkin hotties in it. Forgot the title.

I guess im on my own in thinking Roberto Carlos is way overrated-he's good going forward but id like defenders in an all time team to be able to defend. His free kicks are also overrated, they look awesome when they go in but his success ratio must be very low.

your right about roberto carlos not being able to defend. i think everyone else picked him becuase of his attacking prowess. he shouldn't have taken any free kicks in this world cup. his age showed.

Garrincha certainly was awesome. i found midfield by far the most difficult area to choose- could have had basically any from: Cruyff, Maradona, Rijkaard, Gullit, Zidane, Platini, Garrincha, Zico, Socrates(and several other Brazilians), Matthaus, Tardelli, Charlton plus others i can't think of right now.

lol @ gunfighter. i'd go with ian selley and david hillier in the middle of the park, and pal lydersen in one of the fullback slots.

Goal Uncle Neville Southall At the back Maldini, Hansen, Baresi and Phil Neil. John Barnes, Steven Gerrard, Graeme Souness across the middle in whatever formation they like. Up front would be Dalglish and Rush and Maradona. No, it wouldnt work as a formation, and no not it isnt the greatest ever team, they are just the people I most enjoyed watching in various positions over many years.

I did one of those celebrity face recognition things, and it said I look like Paolo Maldini! Cool. Look at this guy, I'd go gay for him and so would you.
