Anyone here play this game? I go through stages where I start playing on it and cannot stop. It's like crack cocaine.

I haven't played championship manager or football manager since 1999, I lost my first year of uni to it. So I deleted the fucker and haven't dared go back.

Haven't played it in years because it swallows up hours like they are minutes. "Just one more game...."

It's bad news...I had to uninstall the game and give the disc away. I have a mate with bad insomnia who plays it from the time his girlfriend goes to bed until 6am, most nights.

Coincidently I just installed 2005 on my laptop yesterday. I'm career moding with Nice in France currently. 3-0 so far with victories over Lyon and Marseille already. Crack cocaine is a fair analogy. I'm more obsessed with the bargain hunting for players then wins or losses currently though...

I bought 2005 and played it so much I stopped myself buying 2006. Then I buckled and downloaded 2006.

I've been hooked since ChampMan '99. I still fire up my old Celtic saved game from '99 every now and then. SPL champs 8 years running, Champions League winners 6 out of 8 My friends don't get how I can play Football Manager for hours on end, but get tired of FIFA '06 after an hour or so

I re-installed fm2006 last night. Got to bed for about 4am. Fucking knackered at work today but it's my birthday, and it's Friday so it doesn't really matter!

Ah I get it now. Why the name change? Although I always thought it odd that you would just have your full real name (I assume) as your user name.

Just figured it would be better under a semi-pseudonym. Just never got round to changing it before. Now I can start trolling the UG under this new guise! Well, maybe not.

So I was equal on points with Chelsea on the penultimate game of the season where I faced them at St James' Park. Mourinho tried some mind games saying that whoever would win the game would win the league. In typical Newcastle fashion I got beat and fucked it up, oh and Owen got injured. Sad how realistic this game is sometimes. Still, got the UEFA Cup final to play....

I know no-one cares but fuck it... I won the UEFA Cup on pens. Coming back from 2 down against Werder Bremen, and this was without my 3 first choice strikers. Made a few close season signings, got 2 young Argentinians for next to nothing, a Brazilian RB called Rafinha for £15m and Freddy Adu for nothing from Real Madrid. Got beat off Chelsea again in the Charity Shield predicatably. First game of the season I hammered the mackems 5-1 and then mocked Mick McCarthy saying he was going to get relegated. I'M HOOKED!!!!!

Bwhahaha you're very right. Played Chelsea in the 3rd game of the season and beat them 4-0. Also won the Super Cup by beating Inter 3-1. The title is mine this season. PS Freddy Adu is quality.

Pedro is on my coaching team, unfortunately I cannot offer him a playing contract. I did try to get a 40yr old Les Ferdinand back though.
