Necksnapper is correct just pour some random buring debris on it and set a few random fires and it will fall just like a controlled demolition. even less planning and less money

Killer Rabbit you are telling a false truth. If you did work for a company that did controlled demolitions you of all people would know what you are talking about. All you would do is watch the video and you would know it was pulled. What type of explosives would be used in such a demolition Rabbit?

I don't work for a company that does controlled demolitions, though I wish I did. I am a combat engineer in the Army. It depends on the materials you are destroying/cutting. Steel would usually be plastic explosives since you want to cut it. Concrete you usually want to push, so dynamite or TNT. There may be some less stable commercial compounds that will do the job better, but I am only intimately familiar with military demolitions. There are some fancy arrays you can do with water-tamping or customized shaped charges that might be used to reduce the amount of demo. The problem with destroying reinforced concrete columns is the unless you drill them and place charges inside, it takes a shitload of explosives to destroy them. Laying the wiring alone for this would take huge amounts of prep. The only possibility I can think of is if someone decided to roll the dice, and simply attack one of the upper floors by cutting only steel girders (which were "sealed" by concrete floors with no access planned) and hope that the collapse would drop the whole thing with momentum. This would mean that the mechanism for the colapse was actually very similar to jet fuel weakening the steel beams until they collapsed. Kind of a hybrid, since it wouldn't be a true "controlled demolition", more of a roll the dice and hope it takes it down the right way. Frankly, a sideways collapse would have served the PNAC even better, if you think they are behind this.

the building has some small damage on the south face.Only small fires were burning on some floors, small enough that the fire dept left the building empty because the sprinkler system could have handled the fires. Rabbit as we understand it, the building could possibly have been brought down using THERMATE, there is still testing being done on some of the beams from WTC 7. Early indications show that sulfur is on all of the samples.

also ignore the fact that jet fuel can not burn hot enough or for a sustained amount of time to deform even untreated steel.

Towers Weakened By Planes; Brought Down By Fire

these hydro carbon fires are amazing.  Bolded areas for the fratters

WASHINGTON, D.C., MAY 1, 2002 Analysis by a team of 25 of the nation's leading structural and fire protection engineers suggests that the World Trade Center Towers could have remained standing indefinitely if fire had not overwhelmed the weakened structures, according to a report presented today at a hearing of the House Science Committee.

That finding is significant, said W. Gene Corley, Ph.D., team lead for the ASCE/FEMA Building Performance Study Team, because extreme events of this type, resulting in such substantial damage, are generally not considered in building design, and the fact that these structures were able to successfully withstand such damage is noteworthy.

Among the significant findings from the World Trade Center Building Performance Study: Data Collection, Preliminary Observations and Recommendations are:

  • Much of the jet fuel on board the hijacked planes that plowed into the Towers burned off in fireballs outside the buildings. Instead of causing the fires to burn at extremely high temperatures, as was widely speculated, the role of the jet fuel was to ignite other combustible materials over several floors simultaneouslyThose fires eventually weakened the structural steel, leading to the Towers' collapse.
  • WTC Building 7, which sustained no significant structural damage, collapsed on September 11 after burning uncontrolled for seven hours, was the first protected steel structure ever known to collapse solely due to fire.
  • The team found that some connections between the structural steel beams failed in the fires. This was most apparent in WTC 5, where the fireproofing did not protect the connections, leading to a partial collapse. The design and construction of WTC 5 is typical of many steel-framed high rises. WTC 5 is the first major collapse caused by failure of connections due to fire damage.

"also ignore the fact that jet fuel can not burn hot enough or for a sustained amount of time to deform even untreated steel. " Ok, based on that, it's pretty obvious you never had physics in high school and got bad grades in basic physical science. Otherwise you recall the basic experiment where you heat various metal rods with a propane bunsen burner and measure the change in length.
