Might be a good idea to see who is on this forum. What is everyone's state, type/size of agency, type of area (urban, rural etc.), years of experience, type of experience (patrol,TAC-PAC, warrants, narco, SWAT, etc.), rank, favorite beer etc...From there it will be easier to delve into war stories, stylistic preferences, administrator horror stories (my favorite),etc.

Lynchburg, VA City of about 70K I spent 10 years with a small PD, working patrol and I was on the SWAT team for 6 years or so. I did make SGT while I was there, and I was on the Executive Protection Unit as well. Was also the PD's primary DT instructor. Now working for the City Sheriff, since 2002, serving civil process, working court, and transporting prisoners. Also this departments primary DT/Baton instructor. I don't drink alchohol, but i have a serious addiction to Cherry Coke!!

azmatt, You didn't happen to go to the Nevada Police and Firemans games did you? I did the grappling event up there and there were about 5 or 6 PA's from Tucson, including the PAIC. Rios was his name if I remember right. Is that correct? Everyone was very nice and I promised when I come to Tucson I'd get ahold of them to train. They told me "Just look up the PAIC and you'll get ahold of us." But that's easier said than done, huh? Karl

Karl, No I didn't go to those, Rios told me that he was going, but I haven't got a chance to talk to him since he got back. I haven't trained in a while due to other issues, but I hope to get back into it soon. Matt

CUFFS, been here for a year with ICE/FPS. Would much rather have the warm weather in Florida and Southeast Georgia. It's been ok, but lets be honest, Philly is not one of the cleanest cities in the US.
