I'd have to say that since a lion would totally destroy a pitbull, that from this conclusion, a cat definately makes a better form of pet.

Cat's are much, much more low maintenance than dogs. The only bad thing is that they can be way more independant than dogs.

My cats are awesome around the house, but the next cat I get I'm going to leash train it so I can bring it to the park.

If you seek unconditional love from your pet, a dog is the way to go.

Cats are evil... if they were as big as dogs they toy with you and eventually bite your head off. I generally hate cats but strangely enough, I still want a siamese.

more personality, disagree. Can guard house, most dogs fail in this department if not actually professionally trained, so disagree. Shits outside to stink up the yard for you to step in during outdoor BBQ or playtime, agree.

Dogs have evolved to possess the ability to read human interactions and emotions, so they are more interactive, but cats require almost zero maintainance. Not that there aren't interactive cats out there or low maintainance dogs, but that's the general trend. If you're willing to shell out the cash, there are some animals that have the best of both worlds, like Bengal cats.

more personality and guarding the house reflects my experience owning dogs. i'd rather the shit be outside than inside. sure, might be some landmines you'll have to watch out for when cutting the grass or BBQ'ing but i prefer that to catshit smell in the house. i've had german shepards and a pitbull, plenty of personality, never owned a cat, but my sister had one and it sucked. ran up trees, wouldn't come down, brought dead animals to the house, litterbox, etc...

Cats have tons of personality. They just have their own lives and aren't needy bitches, like dogs.

Some cats are really needy. Siamese come to mind. They are so needy it's kind of creepy. I'm talking clingy on the the level of Single White Female. Orange tabbies are also supposedly one of the breeds that are really friendly towards humans.

i love having them both, especially at the same time. my 25 lbs black cat dominates my boston terrier. the cat will rub against the terrier while the dog freezes with fear. but when the cat goes too far the dog goes nuts and the cat runs away. they both are wonderful personality filled pets and are a huge part of our family.

My ex and I had an orange bobtail tabby that not only liked to splash around in water but it was a complete social whore. The slut wasnt one of those "run and hide when people are around" cats that generally piss me off. Pretty fun cat.

I like both, but if I could only have one it would be a dog, no question.

Dogs are more work and more rewarding. The thing I really dislike about cats is they shit in the litter box then walk around on everthing plus their fur is light and fluffy so it floats around everywhere.
