Hi all, On Sunday last, we had the good fortune to spend several hours with Coach Blauer and Coach Torres on a PDR instructor development session here in the UK. Despite the gruelling schedule of their European engagements, both coaches were on top-form and led an excellent session. After a quick breakfast, we headed along to the very picturesque grounds of a 16th century manor (possibly haunted, and reminiscent of the training grounds from Enter the Dragon - very cool) where, during an unexpectedly warm sunny day, we got into the guts of a classic PDR lecture & practice session. Coach Blauer took us through some of his thinking on the key challenges for the PDR coach, touching on professionalism, preparation and what's important to the student of PDR. There were a lot of questions, and as always the integrity of the system and its underlying principles were carefully illuminated by the coaches. As the day went on, we covered fundamental physical elements of the system, always paying attention to those essential details which make all the difference. Coach Torres was as always a great inspiration here with his demos of a fierce-looking CQF. Rounding up the day, Coach Blauer took us through a series of dynamic training drills for ground-fighting, borrowing heavily from the ECT family, to stress-innoculate against positions of adversity and then progressively move towards controls and counters. Just awesome! Thanks to both coaches - I really enjoyed the day and appreciate their taking time out of their packed schedule to squeeze in some time for the UK PDR crew. Thanks also to ZG for helping to make it happen! All the best, Gerard.

Ger, you and Zeb looked sharp at the session. It was great that we could link up in UK versus you flying to Canada for a private lesson :-) Keep up the good work. We should see you more - the SPEAR System has been officially included in the UK's law enforcment training package, so we will be over on a more regular basis. Tony
