If you ask him, I know he will be more than happy to train on the side. I don't think he's formally giving lessons.

SSG Ayers and I work grips and throws 2 nights/week. He got a few kurtkas from the ASA. We've shot some video for them and plan on doing a little more so they can use it as they want. Check out this link: http://www.ultimategrapplingmag.com/content/view/420/56/

hello it is keith, i think in another week i may be able to attempt to train again, it appears i had really damaged the groin muscle in my left leg , however i am now mostly pain free unless i stretch the area or try a squatting motion, so i think another week or so and i should be good to go. I did get some advice from someone else who grappled and suffered a groin injury and he said it was a blessing in disguise, in that he uses only a half guard game now and that it has improved his grappling. Do you think that this would be a legitimate strategy for me to try, using half guard or the turtle when on bottom and basically never going to a full guard, thereby not putting the groin in position to be injured repeatedly?

I have heard the same thing. If you take your tie and use technique you should be fine. Just take it easy, if you start to hurt, stop strecth.

Sorry I've been in and out of class lately. Things have been pretty hectic here. I'll be in/out of for another couple of weeks...by the end of April we should be running on all cylinders. Got a new facility to spar in and it looks like we'll finally get that boxing ring! SGT Singley, thanks for picking up my slack!

Well congrats to the 7 new Level 1 Combatives Instructors. The best part of the night was when we made CPT Heymann cry! He'll have to tell you the rest of the story.

Those were tears of JOY!!! Congrads to Maurice, Gumby, Stephen, Cowboy, Zak, Tompkins (the purple grape), and Chris for getting their Level 1 certs last night! Also thanks to DJ and SSG Malmberg for helping w/ the training and testing. BTW...the "championship" belt that you guys got me is AWESOME!!! The coolest gift I've ever received...much thanks...and when I finish wiping the tears away I'll be there on Friday to defend it! ;)
