Whats the SV650s like on the highway? I want something with enough umph to pass cars 60 mph+, should the situation arise and I need to get out of somewhere in a hurry.

I couldnt agree more about the SV650. I wish i would of got one of those to learn on. As a matter of fact, I still debate on getting one so I can race in a few more classes and have a better chance of some podium finishes. Any new 600 is extremly fast a powerfull and will bite you in the ass if you dont respect it. Oh and by the way, you can power command and custom map an R6 all day long and you still will have the worst midrange out of any new 600. Great race bike, but you gotta wind the piss out of it to make it go (and it will go fast!).

sorry, I was just thinking about this again last night, because there are a few 01-02 zx6rs (samething as a zzr600) in my area for very good prices, and no SV650s in my area... Is is REALLY that bad of a bike to start out on? It's a second gen 600... My only experience on a bike so far has been a cb125, but I cant imagine 90 something horsepower being that hard to handle or at the very least slowly progress on.. Im not Rossi, I have no intention of scrapping knees anytime soon. I dont want to pose either though, I want to take it to the track and actually learn how to ride it, I'm just in no rush to start off my motogp career or anyting... (haha)

You will be fine. Take it slow and don't ride above your abilities. Take a MSC. You'll be fine.
