The squirrel brutalized the hawk in a violent and bloody battle that ended with the squirrel burying it's half-eaten prey to finish later on this winter?

According to the folks running the bird show at the Atlanta Zoo, that my family and I attended, the main difference between hawks and falcons is that falcons wings cross in the back. The birds around my folks house do not have wings that cross in the back, so I'll go with Hawk but, in truth, I know crap about birds.

HA! We've been having an explosion in the squirrel population here. This morning on my jog I saw a bird fly overhead into an oak tree in front of me carrying something. When I got closer I saw it was a hawk - with a dead squirrel it had apparently killed. Third time now I've seen hawks preying on animals around the neighborhood here. First two were doves.
