How can they turn so bad in one year ? Going from first position to last. Was Primeau and Desjardins so important to them ?

"Was Primeau and Desjardins so important to them ?" Primeau was huge, and the only reason the Flyers ever beat the Leafs in the playoffs. His contributions were for many years way overlooked by the majority of the league.

Primeau always seemed to get stuck in someone's shadow. He was a very good player, and i think it shows with what the Flyers may be lacking. They should be a good team with the talent they have, lotsa good young players too.

they did ok without primeau last season and desjardins was out for a good portion of the season. The reason they lose is simply the goaltending, Clarke brought in oversized, slow defensemen. Then Forsberg is in and out of the lineup, trading for Kyle Calder was a ridiculous diea as well. Fact is they got to change that defens eaorund, don't care who they put in net, even if it is Kiprusoff, the scoring chances against are ridiculous.

The Jurassic defense certainly isn't helping them for sure.

"I've always tought Primeau was a bit overrated." Well, you see, when for years the Habs were missing the playoffs, enjoying the sun and working on their golf game, the Leafs were engaged in playoff battles with the Flyers. We played a total of 13 playoff games against these guys over 2 years, which allowed myself a leaf fan who was watching his team in the playoffs gain an appreciation for Primeau, having the opporuntiy to see him play night after night. Keith did it all for that team. He made life as difficult for Sundin as any single individual player has ever done over Sundin's career, as he would always be matched head to head with Sundin. Roenick was the overrated one on those teams, Big Keith was easily their most important player. The year the Flyers lost to the lightning, Keith's playoff performance was easily among the best in the league as he put that Flyers team on his back and took over games in a manner you rarely see. he was a dominant force at both ends of the ice.
