lol, remember the offbrand nerf football?

Sadly, yes I do.  Never tell Mom to pick up a Nerf Football at the store without actually going and making sure she doesn't save $1.13 by buying the one that had none of the outer coating on it, therefore the spongy material was in the elements all the time and fell apart in about 45 minutes of typical play.

Should we even get into nerf baskeball, parents telling you to stop jumping, and trying to fix broken backboards and rims because you always had to throw down the dunk from halfway across the bedroom.

A lot of middle school homework was interupted by Larry Bird(me) popping threes over magic's outstretched arm. Celtics never lost a game in my room.

Great thread. Some good memories of Nerf football at recess. And some bad. *laments at never having caught the ball*

Always had a nerf football with when we'd go to the beach. Get in the water and play catch.

I'd get the ones you could screw in. Put those two screws above each other, then slide the hoop down. I always fucked up the screws and had holes all over my wall.

Remember the Aerobie? Those crazy frisbees that came out in the 80's... They were red, and weren't solid, they were like the outside of a frisbee, about 1 inch thick. If you wanted to play catch with a friend he needed to be in another zip code and they hurt really bad when they hit you in the face. I was small and could throw one over 100 yards easy. I think the world record for an Aerobie was something like 1/4 mile.

Man that's some fucked up seth green hair.  The only thing that can save this thread now is to embed the Nerf 'Crotchbat' commercial form SNL.

I had the nerf boomarang. If you threw it hard, it would arc around with about a 3 foot radius and slap you right in the grill! I intercepted so many nerf footballs! The best where the brand spankin' new ones, because sometimes the "seams" were so sharp, they would slice your fingers.

this thread makes me glad to be/feel older than most of the people on this forum (as a whole). Some great points+topics brought up just on the title mentioning Nerf Football. It takes me way back to my younger days. Grass Stains - sorely missed in today's childhood. Smear The Queer - A game that tested your mettle/resolve and worked your cardio/endurance/stamina I guess. disclaimer-----25 or so years ago when we played that game "S t Q".There was never a PC moment. It wasn't about the name it was just about how long and often you could keep running with the football before you had gotten tackled by the opposition. Then you would forfeit the ball and try to tackle the next person who had the ball. Rinse. Repeat. this would go on for at least 90 minutes at a time. Which is why I bring up mettle/resolve/cardio/endurance/stamina I guess. just my thoughts until I started drinking I suppose. Thanks for reading.

tired of lurking - played the same game as stq just with a different name- we called it "kill the guy with the ball" Also we played a game in grammar school at recess called "keep away" It was one class vs the other class - it was basically a team game of ktq. The team with the ball when the bell rang to back to class was declared the winner for that day. Great memories and a lot of ripped pants and shirts.
