any serious stanley cup contender that wants to see their team put over the top for the cup, make your best offer to the Toronto Maple Leafs and be rewarded with the best leader in the game, and as complete a forward as they come, still an elite player in this league, Sundin.

How many did Bourque have before being traded? 0. How many would Bourque have won if he was never traded? 0. winning the cup speaks more about being in the right place at the right time then it does about how good an individual player is.

"lol. I'll pass." you are not a fan of a contender, this thread isn't directed at you, and if you were a contender you have nothing in your orginization worth Sundin.

we picked Boyd up for nothing. you had nothing to do with it, but lets get back to actual contenders, rather than pretenders with nothing worth while to offer.

lol. He couldn't crack the Wings lineup, yet he is a star on the leaves. I think that speaks volumes about the quality of the loafs and of the Leastern conference. Mark

Sundin on top of being the best leader in the game, and one of the most complete forwards there is, is still averaging a little over a point a game, and he doesn't have one true top line player to play with. The guy is playing on a line with Steen and who ever the fuck else, and while Steen and who ever the fuck else will both be outstanding players one day, they are far from a front line players today. Sundin is an elite player in this game who has no one to play with and is matched up against the best the league has to offer night in night out. Sundin is easily the top commodity come trade deadline for anyone looking to truly increase their chances.

The Leafs will also be willing to part with 40 goal guy, and proven playoff warrior Darcy Tucker to go along with Sundin. any team serious at the cup, adding these two to a team in contention for the best of the worst title would instantly give themselves a team that could not only take it all this year, but would have been able to compete for it 5 years ago as well and would give themselves that respectability as more than just a winner in a watered down league.
