How good is David Beckham really? From my knowledge there is no-one better at passing, crossing and deadball situations. However he has little pace and his tackling and heading are mediocre. Am I correct in this judgement? What else does Beckham do good/bad? Thanks.

He's not as slow as the anti Beckham brigade would have you think. Up there with his passing/dead ball ability I would say is his work rate. He always runs his bollocks off and tracks back.

not sure why all the hate but hes got a fantastic cross as well as set pieces. Beckham is the fifth most capped England player of all time, has twice been the runner up in the FIFA World Player Of The Year Award in 1999 and 2001 and in addition to being the only Englishman to score in three different World Cups, is also only the fifth player in World Cup history to score twice from direct free kicks.

they hate him because he's a good looking guy and he's good. like jeter i guess. his skills would be like said above is his longs balls, crossing, freekicks (although not as good as he was in his man u days) and his incredible stamina.

i think he gets heat because he's not clearly as flashy or as attractive to watch as many other midfielders out there. he's not known for dribbling at defenders, taking long shots, or scoring goals from open play. plus since he's gotten a bit older, he's not as aggressive in finding that little bit of space to bring in crosses. that said, his crosses and free kicks are definitely up there.

He looks awesom ehwen he's warming up and was excellent in his youth. Now, his attitude towards his team lets him down.
