Some of my moles on the inside are telling me that there has been alot of talk about the Wings making a play for Bert. The thought behind it is that he would fill the hole left by Shanny's departure. The Wings need a big body and sniper shot on the powerplay. However, I don't know how well he'd fit into the Wings defensive system. Thoughts? Mark

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. But, seeing as how Florida thinks they go screwed in the Bert/Luongo deal, they probably are gonna ask for the moon. Mark

You don't want Bert's baggage... Robert's would be a great fit in your dressing room.

Bert is still injured but *might* be ready to go later this month i've heard. The thing is they can't get much for him though because he's a free agent at the end of the season. It'd be funny to see him & Chelly on the same team. A motivated & aggressive Bert is *the* power forward in the league, one of the top forwards period. Sadly he hasn't appeared to be either the last couple years. I think he'd fit just fine in Detroit & you'd start seeing a lot more from Zetterberg & Datsyuk with all the room they'd be getting out there. I still hear talk of him going back to Vancouver next year but imo Nonis might not want the drama, or would the benefit of him & Nassy playing together again make up enough for it? Hard to say. Either way OUCH to Florida losing Lui, Krajicek (sp?) and possibly Bert now for what amounts to Alex Auld & Bryan Allen.

Lol at having two headcases in the same locker room (Hasek and Bert). As much as I loved that guy in 2002-03, Bert was damaged goods before the "incident". If he can't handle a hockey mad market like Vancouver, Detroit's gonna be hell for him. Later when he retires, he'll be known as one of those "woulda, shoulda, coulda" players.

I would kill to see Detroit give up a good player/prospect for Bertuzzi. You guys have no idea how much Bert sucks. I mean you guys only see the highlights on Sportscenter, but this guy sucks hard. Mr. Sleep for 7 games, then get pissed off and singlehandedly win a game. Then go back to sleep for another dozen games, only waking up to make a poor defensive play. If Bert cant reach the puck by entending his arm out from body, it's too far away to go after. This was how he played BEFORE the Moroe incident. After that he was crushed. Hope he ends up in Detroit. At least we can all agree that Canucks raped the Panthers in that trade.

Sad part is that the panthers actually have some pretty good offensive depth this yea,r Luongo could've pushed them into the playoffs.

Panthers in the playoffs? lol they are 4 games under .500 and would be last in the Least if it wasn't for the ultra-shitty Flyers. Luongo is good, but he ain't no Superman Mark

I'd like to see if Alain Vigneault (canuck coach) could get Bert motivated. The canucks seem to have bought into what alain is selling. Maybe a change of coaches would get bert rolling again. If the canucks could pick bert up for cheap next year i think they should do it. Also Naslund seems to be depressed without his man Bert. Bert coming back might get Naslund going again.

"I'd like to see if Alain Vigneault (canuck coach)" the bracketing of "casuck coach" I find particulary comical.
