Tried this on the OG got no responses. Figured I would try here. Can anyone answer this? This fictional character had a book released about it in 1949, but the idea didn't catch on until the mid-50's. Now, it's in every American household.

There's some subject confustion there. Did the fictional character realease the book... uh... fictionally? Was it in every household in the book or in real life? My guess would be the telescreen from Orwell's 1984.

It was not the telescreen from 1984. The book was about the fictional character. Forget about being in every household that is misleading. It is a fictional character that is known in most american households not neccesarily in the household.
