Gorgeous fitness model Jen Heward starts training BJJ

Jen Heward is a gorgeous fitness and bikini model as well as a very popular YouTube sensation. Though she is obviously drop dead gorgeous, she has an incredible transformation story that inspires her many followers.

Like many women, Jen has suffered from body image issues in the past which she details in this video:

What separates Jen from all of the other women who suffer from these issues is that she found herself on both sides of the spectrum in the past. She went from being overweight (ever so slightly) then to the other extreme where she starved herself and got way too thin. Neither of which were a healthy balance and that’s when she got super into fitness.

As of late Jen has also taken up the fine art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu to supplement her fitness training and here is what she had to say about it:

“Adding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to my list of new #GOALS 💪🏼👊🏼🤘🏼 It’s only been a week, but I’m loving what #BJJ has to offer, not just the technique and physical demands, but the mental challenges as well and working with others who have the same passion and drive. I’m excited to soak up what everyone has to teach and see what the future brings!

Not only does Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) make for an excellent workout, it has many other benefits as well which Jen is starting to find out for herself. For one it requires a lot of thought and strategy compared to other martial arts. Also in terms of self defense, particularly for women, BJJ is probably the best. This is because it emphasizes on using leverage and technique to overwhelm opponents of all sizes.

It is quite commonplace in BJJ for a skilled woman to completely dominate and control a lesser skilled, stronger man.
