Unlikely and stunning knockout occurs in post-fight brawl
The sport of Mixed Martial Arts has been around a lot longer than most people believe, however; it was introduced to the world on a cold evening in Denver, Colorado on November 12, 1993, and called the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The premise was beautiful in its simplicity: to simply answer the question of which martial art is most effective.
Fast forward over 20 years and we now have a sport that jockeys for top position in popularity in many countries. Although the sport has evolved, the original question that was set out to be answered is still one that intrigues people to this day, however; what is even more intriguing to people is the spectacle that the sport was originally billed as.
People tuned in because, for the most part, they simply had no idea what was going to happen. Mixed martial arts, and combat sports, in general, create an atmosphere that is incredibly electric and it has a lot to do with the air of possibility that ANYTHING could happen.
In the video below, we see just that. A combat sports scene in which there is an air of unpredictability that turns into chaos. The video picks up at the end of a boxing match with one combatant celebrating, much to the dismay of his opponent as well as the crowd, his victory.
The crowd becomes incredibly unruly and a small scale riot ensues complete with fisticuffs in the crowds and items being thrown all over the arena. In a moment that incites sheer terror; inanimate objects begin to be launched into the squared circle putting the lives of the very men people have paid to see in dire jeopardy.
