Heckler gets more than he bargained for at a Capoeira demonstration
When a person subjects themselves to performing in front of a mass amount of people they are always putting themselves at risk by putting themselves in a vulnerable position. This is the reason that one of the top three fears the majority of people have in their lives is public speaking. Any type of performance executed for others regardless of purpose leaves the demonstrator open to being praised, commended, ridiculed, or even judged.
There are times however when these conventional fears of public performances are exacerbated by the ever-present heckler. These are people who are simply there to draw attention to themselves by ridiculing the person on stage or the person putting on the demonstration. Rather than have the courage to gain attention by putting themselves intentionally in the spotlight they seek to gain attention from the safety of the crowd. There are a few places where this is ill-advised and chief among them would definitely be a martial arts demonstration.
In the video below what we are witnessing is a Capoeira demonstration put on by a Capoeira school in what appears to be Brazil. The demonstration aims to show the rich history and heritage of the martial arts by completing the demonstration with a native drum circle and rhythmic, choreographed movements.
All seems to be going well but there is something stirring in the crowd that is happening just outside of the camera’s audio or video range. As the video plays out we begin to piece together the puzzle and it is clear that there is a heckler in the crowd.
As was previously stated, one of the worst places you could ever heckle the entertainment is probably at a martial arts demonstration and the video below shows why!
