Victoria’s Secret Angels show off their Capoeira skills

Wednesday, February 01, 2017

Better known for strutting down the catwalks of Paris and Milan two Brazilian beauties and Victoria’s Secret Angels, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, show Ryan Seacrest their newly acquired skills in this video. The display occurred prior to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Seacrest may have ended up with the wooden spoon for his feeble attempt at the dancing martial art but Adriana Lima channeled the Spider and showed off a front kick very similar to the one that had KO’d Vitor Belfort.

In the video we see Adriana sporting an all black ensemble with high tight shorts and a top that displays her toned midriff while covering her arms.

Alessandra also in all black wears a string bikini top and loose fitting bottoms that sit perfectly on her hips. Seacrest by contrast has somewhat of ‘dad at bedtime’ look with his mismatched blue shirt and black sweatpants.

Capoeria has been around for several hundreds of years and even gained special cultural protection status from UNESCO in 2014 when it was recognized as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”.

“The master usually plays a single string percussion instrument, starts the chants, and leads the game’s timing and rhythm. All participants are expected to know how to make and play the instrument, sing a shared repertoire of chants, improvise songs, know and respect the codes of ethics and conduct, and perform the movements, steps and strikes. The capoeira circle is a place where knowledge and skills are learned by observation and imitation. It also functions as an affirmation of mutual respect between communities, groups and individuals and promotes social integration and the memory of resistance to historical oppression.”
