With the rave reviews rolling in for Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the titular character Wonder Woman, many may be wondering what kind of training regimen the former ‘Miss Israel’ undertook to transform herself into the Amazonian warrior.

It is also worth noting at the age of 20, Gal actually served in the Israel Defense Forces for two years and served as a combat trainer but according to her the Wonder Woman training even eclipsed that during an interview on ‘Live with Kelly & Ryan’.

“It was a lot more intensive on this one. Oh, by far.”

Throughout the film, Gal displays her skills within a number of fight sequences both with and without her sword and horseback riding. As revealed during her time of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Gal opts to do as many of her own stunts as possible.

“I was training for six months prior to the shots [for Wonder Woman], and six hours a day. I did two hours [of] gym work, two hours [of] fight choreography and one and a half hours – two hours horseback riding, which is super hard. When people used to tell me, ‘Yeah, I do sport, I ride horses,’ I was like, ‘That’s not a sport, the horse does everything.’ But no! You’ll be surprised, it’s so painful.”

Check out her training footage below.
