Lopez lands nasty knockout kick against Norman at Just Scrap
On November 13th, Rumble World Entertainment brought their event ‘Just Scrap’ the the Edith Kanaka ole Tennis Stadium in Hilo, Hawai’i.
In a light heavyweight bout, Raymond Lopez made his professional debut against 0-2 Paul Norman and shortly into the first round announced his arrival into the pro ranks.
The fight was not long. After a cordial touching of the gloves the two fighters circled and pawed at each before Lopez fired off a left high kick which Norman attempted to defend low and the kick came over his hands and landed flush to the neck and jaw. That was all she wrote.
The main event of the event also saw UFC veteran Wesley ‘Cabbage’ Correira make his return to after more than three years away from MMA:
It didn’t take long in a mixed martial arts cage for Wesley “Cabbage” Correira to find redemption and make a statement.
Correira scored a technical knockout against Alaska’s Matt Kovacs just 52 seconds into the first round at Just Scrap on Friday night at the Edith Kanakaole Multipurpose Stadium.
It was supposed to be three five-minute rounds, but Cabbage make quick work of Kovacs, who got clipped on the chin with a left hook and fell to the floor.
Cabbage, all 272 pounds, showed surprising agility, swimming from side control to mount Kovcas’ back. From there, the guy from the cold was in dire trouble. Correira windmilled punches and all Kovcas could do was cover up and wait for the referee stoppage.
