Gene LeBell chokes out student and he has ‘accident’
Gene LeBell is an American judoka, grappler, martial artist as well as stunt performer and professional wrestler. Gene Lebell is perhaps best known for choking out fellow martial arts icon Steven Seagal on a movie set which caused him to have an ‘accident’ of the number two variety.
In the following funny video we see ‘Judo’ Gene LeBell choking out a willing student then hilariously proceeds to mess with him a little by throwing a cup of water on his crotch area to make it seem like he wet himself, which he warned him about prior to the choke.
Now Gene LeBell may not be as well known as other martial artists out there, but he has a very important place in the history of martial arts. He trained with martial arts icon Bruce Lee back in the day and pretty much whooped his butt by all accounts and really demonstrated to Bruce the importance of grappling techniques and revealed to him that deficit that he had in his game.
LeBell is also a close, family friend of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and it’s too bad that later in her career she neglected the judo skills Gene surely helped her learn in favor of her newly learned striking skills which proved to be quite rudimentary in comparison.
Gene LeBell also fought in one of the very first mixed martial arts type matches when he took on boxer Milo Savage in 1963 which Gene easily won by choking him out cold with a rear naked choke.
