Jackass star Bam Magera eats a dropkick from hell
As much as we’d love to be able to tell you that two-footed flying dropkicks to the head are commonplace in Mixed Martial Arts, the reality is that couldn’t be further from the truth.
With that in mind, it might cheer you up to know that the infamous ‘Jackass’ crew once took it upon themselves to find out what would happen in real life if you were forced to eat a full force dropkick to the dome.
The stunt was the brainchild of one of the show’s biggest stars Bam Magera, and understandably his original plan was to be the one delivering the dropkick, rather than receiving it!
”I was just sitting over their at the table and [the director] Jeff said, ‘Hey, how about Bam double flying kicks you in the face?” another ‘Jackass’ regular, Dave England, recalled of their initial attempt to do the stunt.
You don’t become a member of the ‘Jackass’ crew by politely declining to that sort of suggestion, so England manned up and stood stalk-still in a park as Magera ran full speed towards him with every intention of taking his head off his shoulders.
However, it proved to be trickier than Magera had anticipated to jump that high and his dropkick attempt ended up hitting England mostly on his shoulder.
That being said, it was still enough to send England sprawling onto the grass, with the whiplash effect leaving him complaining of “seeing stars” afterwards, while ‘Bam’ painfully thumped back down to earth in a heap.
Not content with that botched attempt, Magera challenged co-star Johnny Knoxville to hit him with the same move, but he turned out to be even worse at executing it and barely hit him above the waistline.
“There’s 40 people here, but no-one can kick me in the face with two feet, but everybody thinks it’s SO easy,” Magera grumbled as he tried to save face after his own earlier misfire.
He spoke too soon though as that’s when England, fueled by a desire for revenge, suddenly flew through the air with the greatest of ease and blasted Magera full-force to the head with both feet, dropping him like a stone, much to the amusement of the other cast-members.
Still, Magera remained conscious afterwards, living up to his crew’s mantra that, “If you’re gonna be dumb, you’d better be tough!”
