Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett’s amazing 7-second KO
MMA sensation Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett has once again lived up to his nickname. The American veteran managed to pull off the Performance of the Night in what was one of the craziest MMA events to date.
Rizin World Grand-Prix 2016 went down this past sunday in Saitama, Japan. The event, reminiscent to the good ole days of PRIDE Fighting Championships, featured a plethora of interesting and sometimes crazy bouts (Because, yes, Japan gonna Japan!). Among them, Charles ‘Krazy Horse’ Bennett was set to take on Minoru Kimura, a Brazilian kickboxer.
Let me tell you this right away, Bennett’s performance was surreal. From the walkout, to the amazing KO, to the post-fight celebration, everything about it was insane (and very, very awesome). I guess you can’t except less from someone whose nicknames are ‘Krazy Horse’, ‘Kid Khaos’, and ‘Felony’.
By the way, if you’re not familiar with Bennett do yourself a favor and YouTube him. In a sport oftentimes filled with out-of-the-ring shenanigans, Bennett has to be one of the most, hum, colorful fighters ever, to say the least. Crazy walkouts? Checked. Frantic post-fight celebrations? Checked. Talking to the camera while staring down his opponents? Checked. Hitting on ring card girls in the ring? Yup, checked.
Bennett is an habitual line-stepper, but hey, it’s what makes people tune in to his fights. Many MMA fans were brave enough to stay up very late on Saturday night in order to witness Bennett’s performance at Rizin, and boy, they haven’t been disappointed.
On to the actual fight. Kimura immediately rushes forward, looking to land a flying knee… but instead meets Bennett’s right hand. A few shots on the ground later and Bennett has pulled off one of the craziest KO’s in recent memory. Bennett then celebrates his victory like a hyper kid who ate way too much sugar and then proceeds to call out Wanderlei Siva (the two have had beef for a long time now).
Just… watch the whole thing. MMA doesn’t get any crazier than that.
