19-year-old kid takes on MASSIVE freak opponent – ends shockingly
You should never judge a book by its cover. This is true in many aspects of life but it’s especially so in martial arts and fighting and this MMA fight from 2008 is a great example of that.
This fight took place at event M-1: Slamm in Almere, Flevoland, Netherlands, and was between 19-year-old babyface, Kirill Sidelnikov, versus a very big and scary looking opponent, named Martin Soltisyk.
Upon appearance alone, you wouldn’t even think this would be a fair fight. But if you didn’t already know, Sidelnikov hails from the same town as MMA legend, Fedor Emelianenko, and is one of his main training partners.
Now, it’s probably not fair to speculate or make assumptions on who’s using steroids without any evidence but most likely in Soltisyk’s case, the question isn’t what substance he’s taking, but more so, what substance he isn’t taking.
It’s just about impossible to get that big without taking anything and he would fail Jeff Novitzky’s (head of UFC’s anti-doping program) smell test more than a mile away I’d reckon.
An interesting tidbit is that it would actually be the 19-year-old Sidelnikov who would pop for steroids later in his career but I digress.
Soltisyk comes at his much younger and smaller opponent guns a blazing, throwing a lot of heat and aggression his way, but, much like his training partner Fedor, Sidelnikov keeps his cool and waits for his perfect moment to strike.
