50-year-old boxer with impressive skills fights in MMA

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

In this video from Russian amateur MMA promotion, Arrows Street Fight (also known as STRELKA), we see what happens when a 50-year-old boxer competes in mixed martial arts and he actually does quite well here, particularly for a man his age.

Much like the old adage goes, power is that last thing to go and we see the older man in this video definitely still has some power as he drops his much younger opponent early on in the match. We also see that the older gentleman still has some really good technique with solid head movement and good defensive skills to boot as well.

Not to mention, his hands are still pretty fast, especially for someone his age. Endurance and recovery are both clearly issues for the older guy here, though, and when he starts taking some shots as the fight progresses, he starts to slow down quite a bit.

He eventually gets stuck in the corner towards the end of the fight and takes some punishment before deciding that he’s had enough.

Still, though, considering his age, he actually does really well here and is surprisingly quite competitive with his younger opponent. If his endurance was a little better and he was a little more well-rounded in his skillset, he very well could have won this one.

Check out the full fight below to see how he does, you may very well be surprised.
