Guy challenges Jiu-Jitsu brown belt to MMA fight

Friday, August 11, 2017

There’s always that one delusional guy who thinks he can beat a trained fighter, and more often than not they end up having to learn the hard way that they never stood a chance.

Such was the case in this situation, where a man stormed into the ‘Estrella Fight Team’ dojo and challenged one of their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to go up against him in a mixed martial arts fight.

A brown belt from the team agreed to his request and they were soon squaring off on the mat with MMA gloves on.

As the fight begins the Estrella team member in the blue Gi shows that there’s more to his game than just BJJ as he lands a leg kick and then goes to the body with another, quickly followed by a head kick attempt that just misses the target.

As his opponent starts to move towards him, the BJJ player lands a low leg kick as he moves into the clinch and secures the body lock, before executing a trip takedown to get his opponent to the mat.

This is the worst-case scenario for the challenger, who clearly has no idea what he’s doing on the ground, and now has a seasoned Jiu-Jitsu practitioner on top of him.

The Estralla team member initially controls his opponent from side control and then transitions to a north-south choke.

The challenger is trapped, but the choke isn’t tight enough to force the submission, so the BJJ stylist moves back to side control, then knee-on-belly, where he lands a little ground and pound before securing full mount.

Under pressure, the hapless challenger then gives up his back, allowing the BJJ practitioner to sink in a rear-naked choke, flatten him out and force a swift submission.

As a show of respect the BJJ player offers his hand to help the humbled challenger back to his feet, which is ignored, but after that performance, it’s safe to say his dojo-storming days are over!
