An MMA fighter became so disorientated after being KO’d by an illegal strike that soon after he began attacking the referee – who happens to be a UFC fighter!

The fight took place at Trench Warz 20 in Saipan, the largest island in the Northern Mariana Island, a commonwealth of the United States, back in December of 2016.

The two fighters making their professional debut that night were Jesse Joe Mesa and Andres Camacho, and they wasted no time getting down to business at the opening bell.

It was Camacho who was leading the charge, unleashing a series of kicks, with one to the head stunning Mesa, followed by a right hook that sent him slumping to the mat.

However, the over-zealous Camacho followed up with an illegal head kick to his downed opponent that appeared to knock him out, at least for a split-second.

Refereeing the match that night was Frank ‘The Crank’ Camacho, a fighter himself with a 20-5 record, who just months later would be called up as a late replacement to fight at UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore.

Immediately after the illegal kick, Camacho brought an end to the fight and then turned to check on the downed fighter, only to find that Mesa had quickly regained consciousness and was now back on his feet.

The only problem was that Mesa was still so disorientated from the blow that he began attacking the referee, unleashing a flurry of punches on him.

However, despite eating a few of those strikes, Camacho took it all in his stride, clinching up with the confused fighter, then successfully managing to calm him down.

In the end, Mesa was awarded the victory by way of disqualification, and it seems there were no hard feelings on the referee’s part about the post-fight incident.

He was GAME!” Camacho said in a YouTube post. “He had the Chamorro Islander fighting spirit and had no giving up on him even after getting dazed. I just happened to be in front of him as he got back up!
