MMA legend Bas Rutten’s rules for dating his daughter
Bas Rutten is the former UFC heavyweight champion as well as a pioneer and legend in the sport of MMA. He was one of the first high-level strikers to compete in the sport, as well as one of the first strikers who could fight well on the ground too.
Some of his favorite techniques were the liver shot, be it with a kick or punch, as well as palm strikes – a technique he got really good at when he competed in Pancrase as closed-fist strikes weren’t allowed at the time.
In this video, we find out the house rules in the Rutten home for dating his daughter and you’d be best not to cross him or you may very well end up taking a shot to your liver for your troubles.
What Rutten wouldn’t like to see in his daughter’s possible suitors are these wannabe gangster-type fellows with sagged pants and the whole deal, which is very understandable.
And come prom night, Rutten is going to sit the lucky young man down and go over some of these rules to him and explain to him the consequences of crossing him that involves a ‘fishing trip’ you can find more about in the below video.
ABOUT BAS RUTTEN:
Sebastiaan “Bas” Rutten (born 24 February 1965) is a Dutch former mixed martial artist, kickboxer and professional wrestler. He was a UFC Heavyweight Champion, a three-time King of Pancrase world champion, and finished his career on a 22 fight unbeaten streak (21 wins, 1 draw). FightMetric wrote this when Rutten got inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame: “FightMetric, the official statistics provider for the UFC, ran the numbers on Rutten’s career. They back up the Dutchman’s inclusion into the UFC Hall of Fame and then some. In the 4-hours, 27-minutes and 8-seconds he spent as a pro fighter, Rutten scored 13 knockdowns without getting dropped himself, his significant strike accuracy was 70.6%, the highest FightMetric has ever recorded, attempted a record 53 submissions and successfully swept his opponents a record 46 times.” [Source: Wiki]
