Noob takes an MMA fight with zero training – does not go well
Fighting in MMA, whether at the amateur or professional level, should be the culmination of years of consistent training. Entering into a contest without putting in the proper training time is not only ill advised but can result in serious injury.
Back in the day, before commissions and regulatory bodies came into play, it was probably much easier for someone to just sign up and take a fight with no background. Nowadays in most jurisdictions that’s probably not going to happen.
In this video from some years back, we see what happens when somebody who has no idea how to fight takes an MMA fight against someone who does and it doesn’t go very well for him.
According to the commentators, this guy’s been training three years with his body, mind, and spirit, whatever that means. Like previously mentioned, nowadays with sanctioning bodies in place, this guy wouldn’t be allowed to fight and that’s the way it should be.
This ‘fight’ lasts about 10 seconds though it could have gone much worse for this guy. Right away you can tell he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He has no sense of distance or movement. He throws punches with no defense in mind and his chin way up in the air and gets dropped right away because of it.
As if that wasn’t enough, he then turns away from his opponent and literally runs away with his back to him and runs right into a head kick. The contest is stopped shortly thereafter.
The only saving grace in this fight is the good stoppage from the referee. Though this guy was not completely knocked unconscious, the ref made the right call in stopping it before this guy got seriously hurt.
On the other hand though, he shouldn’t have been allowed to compete in the first place with clearly zero training under his belt and this ‘fight’ could have ended much worse for him.
