Russian street fighter fights a Thai boxer – ends in under 1 minute

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

In this video from Russian amateur MMA promotion Arrows Street Fight, we see what happens when a Thai boxer fights a so-called Russian street fighter and it doesn’t take long for this one to get bloody.

As soon as this one starts you see their very different styles reveal themselves. The Thai boxer’s stance is obviously a dead giveaway as well as shortly thereafter when he grabs the Thai clinch and begins viciously hammering knees into his opponent’s body and face, which is what most likely caused the blood.

The street fighter on the other hand, well, fights very much like an untrained street fighter. He is very frantic and simply bull rushes forward and doesn’t really know how to defend himself or fight very well, to be honest.

However, he does get a takedown after getting kneed into oblivion which might have helped him achieve victory had his opponent not been able to fight on the ground as well.

The Thai fighter gets what looks to be an Omaplata shoulder lock which he uses to get out from underneath his over-matched opponent, then quickly pounds him out for the win.

This video is really a great example of the importance of well-rounded skills as had the Thai boxer not been able to fight on the ground as well he could have been in trouble when the street fighter took him down. Despite being light years ahead of him on the feet, skill-wise.
