Krav Maga’s answer to a knife held to your groin

The simple knife is one of the most commonly used weapons used to threaten victims in a variety of scenarios, where a single stab or slash from even the smallest of blades is capable of causing immense harm to a person or even ending their life in an instant.

Although it is recommend by law enforcement that you comply with someone wielding a bladed weapon if it can guarantee ones safety, there can be scenarios where an attack is inevitable and action to protect yourself is the only viable option.

In the following technique video Krav Maga Training (KMT) instructor Luca Arietti breaks down a very dangerous scenario involving a knife being pointed to your groin area while the attacker is holding you with their other hand.

Throughout the lesson Luca will demonstrate how to gain control of the weapon from your attacker, how to redirect the threat away from yourself, disarming techniques and finally how control your opponent so you can deliver your own strikes or create distance to escape the situation safely.
