Cris Cyborg training pro wrestling with TNA champ

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

The worlds of MMA and pro wrestling have often been intertwined throughout their histories, especially in the early days of MMA in Japan. As of late we have seen a lot of pro wrestlers give MMA a try, with varying levels of success. But we have also seen it go the other way with legitimate fighters trying to make it in pro wrestling.

In the following footage, it seems as if female MMA star Cris Cyborg might be considering to do the same as we see her training pro wrestling moves with TNA’s Raquel (real name Gabriela “Gabi” Castrovinci).

Cris Cyborg most certainly has the build and the athleticism to make in the pro wrestling world, and we see in this video she’s got the moves to boot.

Interestingly enough, she also called out Ronda Rousey on her Instagram to a tag team match in the WWE. Rousey also had a brief appearance of her own in the WWE previously so it is certainly within the realm of possibility.

Cyborg last fought in September of 2016 in the main event where she earned yet another dominant win over Lina Lansberg at 140lb catch weight. Now with the new 145lb women’s featherweight division up and running, it is most certainly just a matter of time before Cyborg challenges for the title where she would most certainly be a favorite over current champion Germaine de Randamie.

Cristiane Justino Venâncio (formerly Cristiane Santos; born July 9, 1985), commonly referred to by her nickname “Cyborg” or “Cris Cyborg”, is a Brazilian and American mixed martial artist and former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion. She is the current Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion and is currently signed with the UFC. Justino won the Strikeforce title on August 15, 2009, by defeating Gina Carano via first-round TKO. She lives in San Diego where she trains and teaches at The Arena. [Source: Wiki]
