Dana White’s craziest pre-fight staredowns

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

The pre-fight stare down has become somewhat of a tradition in combat sports as it gives the viewers a taste of the mind-set that the athletes have before their inevitable fight and can even sway the gambling odds.

Not surprisingly after weeks and weeks of training, cutting weight, promoting etc. some fighters get very intense during the stare downs that take place on media day and the weigh ins.

In a recent segment on the Conan O’Brien show, UFC president Dana White made an appearance discussing all things Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather, his relationship with Tito Ortiz and of course keeping fighters separated during pre-fight stare downs.

“They’re very agitated. It’s about keeping them away from each other and making sure the fight doesn’t happen before the fight.”

Of course this doesn’t always work out, as demonstrated during the very heated and memorable stare down between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier ahead of their fight which saw Dana White stand-in Dave Scholler get tossed aside like a child by an enraged Jon Jones.
