UFC heavyweight champion and Bruce Willis filming new action flick

Saturday, April 01, 2017

Stipe Miocic is the current UFC heavyweight champion of the world. He first won his belt at UFC 198 from submission wiz Fabricio Werdum in the hostile territory of Werdum’s home country of Brazil. He has since successfully defended that belt over top tier striker Alistair Overeem but this time in Miocic’s home city of Cleveland where Stipe won by first round knockout.

Stipe has also defeated the likes of other big names such as former champ Andrei Arlovski, Mark Hunt, Roy Nelson, as well as Gabriel Gonzaga.

In the following footage, we see Stipe in a different kind of arena as he is looking to try his hand in the realm of acting. We see the current champ working with Bruce Willis on a new film entitled ‘Acts of Violence’ which is an action film set to come out later this year.

Hopefully this new venture doesn’t take too much time away from his training like it did with Ronda Rousey, though she had a lot of other things going on as well.

Stipe is next slated to defend his belt against former champion Junior Dos Santos in a rematch headlining the stacked card of UFC 211 on May 13th, 2017. If Stipe wins this one he will tie the record of most title defenses for a UFC heavyweight champion which is currently just 2 defenses. Their first fight was a close, brutal war that really could have gone either way.

What makes Stipe so unique is that he is still a working full time fire fighter and paramedic in Ohio in addition to being the reigning heavyweight champion of the world.

Stipe Miočić (born August 19, 1982) is an American professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where he is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. As of January 2, 2017, he is the #6 ranked fighter overall in the promotion. Miocic was nominated for the MMA fighter of the year award in 2016. [Source: Wiki]
