UFC’s Paige VanZant in a hot yoga session
Paige VanZant is a current UFC straw weight contender and one of the top rising stars in women’s MMA (WMMA). Paige crossed over to the mainstream during her stint on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and gained a bunch of new fans as well as represented the sport of MMA in a very positive light.
Paige trains at world class MMA camp ‘Team Alpha Male’ alongside such greats like Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, and newly crowned bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt whom Paige previously had a relationship with.
Though VanZant has yet to fight for a title herself, she still has plenty of time to do that as she is only 22 years old. And training with a great camp like Team Alpha Male her skills are only going to get better with time.
In the video below we see Paige performing a yoga routine for the camera and she looks great doing it. For those not aware, yoga is not only used a promotional tool but its a great way to recover from strenuous workouts as well as prevent injury.
During hard training, many muscles particularly in the lower back can tighten up and cause pain. Doing yoga type stretches is a great way to relieve that tension and allow you to get back in the gym as soon as possible.
Though yoga make not seem as effective as doing deadlifts or running hills, it still has its place in a MMA fighters repertoire like Paige demonstrates here.
