Watch Steven Seagal defeat 3 UFC champions

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Steven Seagal is an actor and martial artist who is known for his aggressive style of aikido which he employs in his many martial arts oriented action films.

Though aikido is probably not the most effective martial art out there, Seagal has trained with several UFC fighters over the years so they must think highly of the guy to work out with him and take his advice.

In the following humorous video, we see footage of Sensei Seagal defeating three former UFC champions, though in reality it is just edited training footage and a clip from one of his action movies.

The first UFC champion he ‘defeats’ in this video is none other than hall of famer and legend Randy Couture who was multiple time champion in two weight classes – both heavyweight and light heavyweight. Couture is now happily retired from fighting and pursuing a career in acting, which we see him star opposite Seagal in the opening clip.

The other two former champions Seagal deals with are Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. In reality though this is just training footage from a few years back where Seagal worked with them and showed them some moves to use in the cage.

Seagal even claimed he showed Anderson the front kick he used to famously knockout Vitor Belfort at UFC 126, though it is actually a pretty common technique just not seen very often in high level MMA up to that point.

A master of several Japanese martial arts, Steven Seagal is a popular action movie hero whose films combine spiritual concepts and social/environmental consciousness with high-voltage violence. Born in Lansing, MI, on April 10, 1951, Seagal traveled to Japan at the age of 17. There, he taught English, studied Zen, and perfected his martial arts, earning black belts in Aikido, karate, judo, and kendo. Afterwards, he became the first Westerner to open a martial arts school in Japan. [Source:]
