WATCH: The first time Dana White met the notorious Conor McGregor

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Conor McGregor and Dana White have an interesting relationship. Currently, McGregor is the UFC’s Lightweight Champion, had his Featherweight championship stripped, has had some of the highest selling pay-per-views in UFC history, was the first fighter to earn a disclosed 1 million dollar purse, is on Forbes list of highest paid athletes, and is currently in negotiations to box one of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather.

From a public point of view, McGregor seems to call his own shots.  He is brash, he is loud, he is extravagant, and it seems that Conor McGregor does what Conor McGregor wants to do whether it lines up with the wants of his boss, Dana White, or not; however, things have not always been this way.

Whether you are a McGregor fan or not, it is safe to say that McGregor has earned every dollar he has made and, arguably, the right to call the shots when it comes to who he will fight and when…even if Dana White wants something different.

But how did this relationship come to be? A relationship where it seems the employee tells the employer what he is going to do…

To be fair, it came from hard work, from never turning a fight down or saying no to anything, and from always ‘suiting up and showing up’ as they say, figuratively and literally.  Conor McGregor is one of the hardest working athletes of this generation.

Again, things haven’t always been this way.  In the video below, you will see a very different Conor McGregor. You will see a Conor McGregor after his first win in the UFC and he is quite different than the public persona he has created.  He is excited, even giddy when he meets with Dana White for the first time.

So check out the video below for a look at a Conor McGregor that most of the world has never seen.
