Australian UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa charmed fight fans worldwide when he knocked his opponent out, and then chugged a beer from a shoe.

”It’s just an everyday thing in Aus,” he explained to Megan Olivi. “That was a reasonable, fairly lower kind of shoey. Usually, you get somebody’s work boot, that was a pretty new shoe, so that was all right. Usually, you get someone to spit in it, everybody spits in it, and then you skull it. So ... welcome to Australia."

But there's a downside to being the 'Shoey' guy - now fans want him to do it at 7:00 in the morning.

“I’m not f***ing partying,” said Tuivasa to John Morgan and Steven Marrocco for MMAjunkie this week. “I’m having breakfast. Let me eat my egg and bacon before I do a ‘shoey.'”

Tuivasa fights former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 142 on December 2, 2018, in Adelaide, Australia. JDS defeated Tuivasa's teammate Mark Hunt via spinning hook kick at UFC 160 on May 25, 2013. 'Shoeyvasa' wants revenge.

“As we all know, it’s an eye for an eye,” explained Tuivasa. “I’m trying to get one back for my team and for my boys. And it’s at home. I’m going to come with some heat. I’m not going no three rounds or five rounds. One of us is going to get done quick.”

“I haven’t seen him take anyone down for a long time, and I don’t think I’m going to be taking anyone down. So it’s going to be a good punchfest for sure.”

“I can go to a pub and bash some bum, but what do I get out of that? I want to be the baddest [kangaroo] in the world."
