Purses for the GGG-Rolls card: Gennady Golovkin's purse is listed as a laughable $2 million. He's getting closer to $15 million. Steve Rolls $300k, Ali Akhmedov $25k, Marcus McDaniel $45,250, Charles Conwell $15k, Courtney Pennington $13,500, Brian Ceballo $25k, Bakhtiyar Eyubov $8k, Israil Madrimov $48k, Norberto Gonzalez $15k, Nikita Ababiy $8k, Juan Francisco Barajas $3,500.

Fighter purses in MMA usually follow a show/win structure, often of identical amounts. In the UFC, there are also four $50,000 performance bonuses and stepped Reebok money. Champions also typically get points on the PPV. By contrast, boxing typically has a fixed amount to fight.

ESPN Senior Writer Dan Rafael recently reported the official fighter purses for Saturday's GGG vs. Steve Rolls event, which streamed live on DAZN.

Main Card

Gennady Golovkin (Contracted purse $2 million, but total likely around $15 million)
Steve Rolls ($300,000)

Ali Akhmedov ($25,000)
Marcus McDaniel ($45,250)

Brian Ceballo ($25,000)
Bakhtiyar Eyubov ($8,000)

Prelim Card

Israil Madimov ($48,000)
Norberto Gonzalez ($15,000)

Charles Conwell ($15,000)
Courtney Pennington ($13,500)

Nikita Ababiy ($8,000)
Juan Francisco Barajas ($3,500)

Saturday's UFC 238 was regulated by the Illinois Athletic Commission which does not release purses, but Jeff Fox for The Sports Daily estimated the numbers, based on previous events. Comparing the figures for the two cards is informative. The size of the two cards (6 boxing and 13 MMA) is another difference between the sports, with MMA tending to be larger.
