The first time Conor McGregor met Dana White

Back in 2014, in his very first interview with ESPN, Conor McGregor talked about his first encounter with UFC president Dana White.

“When I was 16 years old, I was at my first UFC event as a fan,” recalled McGregor, as transcribed by Daniel Davis for The Daily Mail. “After the event, Dana stays and takes pictures with the fans. I ran down to the railings and I seen Dana and I was like, ‘Dana, Dana.’  He looked at me… ‘How much money have you got in your pocket right now this second?'”

“He looked at me with like a weird face and then just kind of walked off. So, I don’t think he liked that too much, but it was fun. I was just a little kid dreaming of the big time.”

McGregor and White have had their ups and downs since, but they made each other a very great deal of money.

The first time I ever met Dana was for a brief meeting at an event, shortly after ZUFFA purchased the UFC. He was nice, and hopeful he could do a lot for the sport and for its athletes. I thought he was naive, a little starry-eyed. I was wrong.

UG, for those of you who have met Dana, what was it like?
