Twitter is not impressed when Deadspin 'writer' calls ONE 'minor league'
A poor Deadspin staff "writer" named Patrick Redford, apparently without access to The Google, recently wrote a befuddled piece on Cosmo Alexandre's win over Sage Northcutt at ONE Championship: ENTER THE DRAGON, titled "Poor Sage Northcutt Gets Knocked Out 30 Seconds Into Minor League MMA Debut."
Northcutt isn't poor and ONE Championship isn't minor league. And that was just the headline. The errors continued in the body of the piece. Twitter was not impressed.
Sage Northcutt takes on the toughest opponent of his career and they're calling it "minor league" https://t.co/YftNhKG2my— Dave Doyle (@davedoylemma) May 17, 2019
"Minor league MMA debut" is a bad and unfair way of framing this. https://t.co/eyQHJ1vFuH— Josh Gross (@yay_yee) May 17, 2019
Minor league? Whoever wrote this is a total jabroni. https://t.co/PKeZM354oS— Michael Chiesa (@MikeMav22) May 18, 2019
LOL at minor league. Plus, Cosmo has almost twenty years of Muay Thai experience and Sage Northcutt is the type of goober who thinks the karate they did as a child means anything, despite being a nice enough kid. https://t.co/B9bN4QABM6— kyle (@KyleCobraIsMeh) May 18, 2019
If Sage just trained UFC a little more, maybe he would've won.— Joel (@RealSwoleJoel) May 17, 2019

Minor league?..... might wanna do some research before publishing the article 🤦♂️— The Fight Geek™ (@TheFightGeekMMA) May 17, 2019

Yeah, “minor league”... 🙄. ONE Championship, Asia’s largest sports organization, is pretty much on par with the UFC.— 🎃Eric-or-Treat Buchert🎃 (@atanak74) May 17, 2019
