After a year of developing the company’s name and concept, Fight Time Promotions launched its “Fight Time” series in August 2010. The couples’ vast backgrounds are what make the company a strong and unique Mixed Martial Arts promotional company based in South Florida. Howard Davis Jr. broke records when he was a fighter by winning the New York Golden Gloves four years in a row as a young amateur boxer. During the ’76 Olympic Games - Davis received a phone call that his beloved mother had passed away three days before his first fight. Davis decided to stay in Montreal, Canada and dedicated the Gold medal to his mother. Davis was also named the Outstanding Boxer of the 1976 Olympics and awarded the Val Barker Trophy, during the Olympics that included Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Spinks and Leon Spinks. Davis, the oldest of ten children, grew up in Glen Cove Long Island, NY and became a professional prize fighter in the Lightweight Division after winning Gold in the 1976 Olympics. He was trained by his father – Howard Davis Sr. – for most of his 23 year boxing career which includes an amateur boxing record of 120-5 and 43 Professional fights with only 6 defeats. After living in New York & New Jersey most of his life, Davis moved to sunny South Florida in 2003 after American Top Team asked him to become their Boxing Director. Davis created a bond with many of the up-and-coming MMA fighters, who credit him with helping to improve their striking skills. Davis has been featured on Spike TV's "Ultimate Fighter" as the Boxing Trainer for Season 11 and has trained MMA champions and superstars such as Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, Thiago “Pitbull” Alves, Thiago Silva, Jeff Monson, Din Thomas and more. Davis was inducted into the Inaugural New York Golden Gloves Boxing Hall of Fame and New York Boxing Hall of Fame. He's also a member of the Florida and New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. His wife and business partner Karla Guadamuz-Davis grew up in Miami, FL and graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Communications & Political Science. She was a Journalist for 15 years and worked at South Florida television and radio stations as well as major news publications. In 2007, Guadamuz-Davis launched her own Marketing and Public Relations Firm (KGC Marketing Team) and also managed Professional Boxers. Once the couple combined their ideas and resources, Fight Time Promotions quickly became one of the most recognized promotional companies in the Southeast. In 2011, Fight Time Promotions held more shows than any other fight promoter in the State of Florida (boxing or MMA). Fight Time Promotions’ PRO MMA fights are featured in millions of television households through HBO Plus and CSS (Comcast Sports SE). Fight Time Promotions was the first company to ever hold a MMA Heavyweight World Title Fight in the State of Florida with the ISKA when Jeff “The Snowman” Monson defeated Tony Lopez. Aside from opening the doors to many fighters looking for an opportunity in MMA; the company has featured former UFC superstar Wilson Gouveia, current Fight Time Promotions’ Lightweight Champion and UFC Veteran Vagner Rocha, Mike and Steve Bruno as well as one of the top female fighters in the world – Jessica “Jag” Aguilar. The “Fight Time” series take place in South Florida at the historic War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
