Jose Rodriguez Chucuan, best known for his WWE run as Alberto Del Rio, has been formally indicted in a kidnapping and sexual assault case.
According to NBC San Antonio, the Bexar County (Texas) District Attorney’s office announced Friday that Chucuan – who also fought MMA for Combate Americas as Alberto El Patron – was indicted by a grand jury on one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault.
If convicted, Chucuan could face a maximum sentence of 99 years in prison, according to TMZ.
The charges against Chucuan, 43, stem from his arrest in May after he allegedly assaulted the victim overnight and into the afternoon. The accuser alleges that Chucuan caused multiple injuries and left her “feeling woozy and dizzy from the hits to her head.” The accuser also said Chucuan choked her and shoved a sock into her mouth, at which point she couldn’t breathe. Chucuan allegedly ordered the woman to put on a dress and dance for him, and told her that if she cried, he would “take her son and drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.”
