Ok assholes, I'm bringing it back. News, results, videos, rants, questions, whatever. There's a bunch going on in the Land of the Rising Sun, especially in NJPW, and a few people have been asking about how to follow/get into Japanese wrestling, so let's make this a one stop shop for all things puroresu. And not just NJPW either, I mean anything. Dragon Gate, Wrestle-1, the ghosts of AJPW and Noah, DDT, Michinoku Pro, Joshi, it's an equal opportunity thread, so bring it on

I Figured a good way to start would be with NJPW's "King of Pro Wrestling" show from yesterday, so here's a playlist of the whole show.

I was genuinely surprised about that. After he was released the word was that he wanted to stay in the States, but I'm glad he decided to return. He's a nice addition to the roster, imo

I just rewatched this match tonight for the first time since it happened back in January and thought I'd share the link. Dragon Gate doesn't get much credit for it's singles matches, but every now and then they put on a great one, and here's one of those times. Masato Yoshino defends the Open the Dream Gate title against Masaaki Mochizuki

If you want to skip all the prematch stuff and get right to it, jump to around 10:00

Finally finished the entire ppv

Looks like they are doing what I said by letting okada and tanahashi main event jan 4 so they can most likely put on a 5 star match for the U.S. fans

Hope the rest of my prediction comes true with Aj winning the roh title and defending it at the dome Phone Post 3.0

Thank you Grizz. I want to keep up with Dragongate more than I do. I still haven't heard what is up with the lack of DGUSA. Any word?

Last I heard Gabe was trying to get the Dragon Gate guys back over for a DGUSA show later this year but the schedules weren't lining up. He's not going to run a DGUSA show without DG guys, so they're just running Evolve shows and defending the DGUSA belts on those shows right now. Phone Post 3.0

That's what I had heard as well but I think there is a little more to it especially since Dragon Gate didn't show for the WM weekend event and everyone went with visa troubles

I'm sure there is more to it, but nobody on either side is saying anything, at least that I've seen. If the whole thing is dead, then I'd have expected Gabe to just roll everything into Evolve and dump the DGUSA belts, but he hasn't done that yet, so they're probably still trying to make it work Phone Post 3.0

You and me both man, especially the original one. That one was the best looking belt in wrestling, hands down. Strong contender for 2nd place is the Tohoku Jr Heavyweight Championship from Michinoku Pro. Amazingly cool belt that no one really knows about Phone Post 3.0

Wrestling wise my favorite title was the old NWA TV title that was presented to Dusty I believe and was a red belt with silver plates. However favorite title belt of all time for me has to be Sengoku MMA belt

Best pic I can find of the Tohoku Jr Heavyweight Championship, being held by one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world, Fujita Jr Hayato. Such a cool belt

I don't see Tana retaining honestly, I think Okada takes it. I think Nakamura retains also, though that one is a toss up Phone Post 3.0

New Japan is running the annual Super Junior tag tournament on the next tour. Here's the teams involved:

BUSHI & Mascara Dorada
reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly)
Timesplitters (KUSHIDA & Alex Shelley)
Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Kozlov)
Ryusuke Taguchi & Fuego
Taichi & El Desperado
Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask
The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

Glad to see reDRagon involved. Hopefully it leads to an epic Jr tag title match at the Dome in January Phone Post 3.0

I got okada over tanahashi(I'm iffy about this tho I don't think they will want to take the title off tanahashi that quickly) and I got shibata over nakamura(letting naka move up to face the IWGP HW champ)

I also think they might keep the title on tana to let naka be the 1 to beat him for it Phone Post 3.0
