I have never seen nor heard of this guy in my life until the other day I had Smackdown on in the background and this dude has a pre-taped promo that instantly grabs my attention.

His choice of wording, physical mannerisms, timing.  It was all there.  Articulate, gritty, sincere.  He actually had me believing he could be a big thing in what I hope will be the next phase of WWE bringing back the TV-13 subject matter.

I've never seen him in the ring,  never seen him physically.   Is he a big dude, or another Finn Balor-sized middle schooler type?  Just another flippy floppy indie turd, or is he actually credible and physical in-ring?

If he's doing this "I'm the light" angle and it actually turns out to be a dark heel persona, its fucking genius.

Or........is he gonna be in comedy matches with conga lines and muppets in a few weeks???

He's smaller than Finn Balor. Probably like 5'8", 170lbs. But he's a hell of a talent inside the ring. Just a bit too small to be any sort of major player.

He comes to the ring in a flashing raver gas mask.

I really don't understand the hype.

He has no in ring physicality at all, and very little ability to carry a story.

He gets by on high spots and overselling individual moves.

In other words, he's a smarks dream wrestler

Eh. I'd argue that I'm a smark, but protecting kayfabe is more important than doing a big spot because that's the only way you can get a reaction.

For a clear difference in story telling check 1.44 vs the 6.07 sequence, goes for about a minute.

Sucks.  Sounds like the in-ring version just isnt gonna get it done.

Too bad, because I think he was doing a good job on selling the character, but if he's the size of a midget, its just not going to go all the way.
