AtomicElbow - Revival's contracts don't expire until Apr '20. How much shit can WWE make them eat until then?

http://whatculture.com/wwe/the-revivals-wwe-contract-expiry-date-revealed

Aren’t they champions right now?

Tag belts are more useless right now in WWE than that stupid 24/7 belt.

If anything, it's all but a guarantee that you're gonna lose the majority of your matches.

I mean, look at how they were booked the first time they had the belts...

None are booked as bad as the women tag belts, that are like less than 6 months old

Maria & Mike Kanellis are rumored to signed a 5 year extension with the WWE.

Didn't realize they were even in wwe to sign a contract extension.

When an article mentions "major stars", I'm imagining someone like Cena or the Rock.

Wwe is getting desperate  not to let AEW have talent. 2 of the most useless people on the roster and they got 5 year deals

Rusev was my first thought when seeing this.

Signed a couple who are basically one nice ass and two jobbers in an era where they're showing less and less skin.

They still want Sasha back. On Stomping Ground, they had a pic of her Boss N Hug T Shirt. She and Charlotte are on the cover of their large coffee table book "Greatest Rivalries" (along with Bret-HBK and Cena-Rock).

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that he’s heard that Rusev’s current WWE deal is up “relatively soon,” but said that’s not confirmed.

Meltzer would add that WWE knows Rusev is not happy in WWE right now because he recently “asked for a leave of absence” as he’s been off TV since Super ShowDown because he asked for time off.

Meltzer speculated that WWE might try to freeze Rusev’s contract due to his time off and that both AEW and NJPW would have interest in him.

Yeah, what is he thinking. Everybody who wants out needs to do it just like Moxley.

Meanwhile, WWE is resigning key talent like rhe Kanellises, Mojo, and Jinder...

Let’s read that for what it is though, there’s no indication that Rusev is unhappy at all. Asking for a leave of absence doesn’t automatically mean he’s unhappy with the company despite what Meltzer would try to have everyone believe. There could be a ton of reasons why he asked for time off.

Its absolutely wild, however, how these “independent contractors” can have their contracts frozen for taking time off. In what other world what that be possible other than WWE.

Rusev has been unhappy for a very long time, and it's not some secret. He's gone as soon as his contract is up. AEW is likely the landing spot.

I'm a huge Rusev fan. I don't know anyone that isn't. He gets himself over, no matter how hard they try to bury him, and he still claims the World Television Championship. His social media accounts are more entertaining than half of WWE's television product.

I look forward to the liberated Rusev and Lana.

There's been stories going back to when his career was stepped on by Vince for the Lana marriage tweets, about him being unhappy.

You can spin it as just gossip if you need to, but the stories have been out there.

I'm not spinning it as anything, quite the opposite actually. I'm not jumping to assumptions or conclusions like Meltzer usually does. I'm simply pointing out that there are a lot of reasons an employee of a company can ask for a leave of absence.

I'm not saying he's not unhappy there and wants to leave - he may very well want to. And I actually hope he does leave for AEW along with Lana as they could really become major players there.

The thing with Meltzer is though, after following his stuff for the best part of two decades it's pretty easy to spot when he's just taking a wild guess at something rather than actually knowing for sure.

Yeah it's a fair observation, I just have come to believe in the "Where there's smoke..." attribute to this and unless the gap in pay offer is fairly substantial, most if not all of the misused named would take an out right now and don't enjoy a madman running their passions into dust.

blah blah Rusev is clearly unhappy. I want to know when his contract will be up and if Lana is on the same timeline...

I'm in the minority, because she's great to look at (when she doesn't have those hideous contact lenses in), but I'd prefer she not be on tv ever again.

Mind you he's probably making great money.

Rusev's contract is supposedly up in October. WWE is clearly freezing him out. It's been over 3 months (June 7, Super Showdown) since Rusev has been on television. His last non-PPV appearance was April 16th. His last win was February 5th.

He does have a sweet new Freddy Mercury Pornstache:

Supposedly his contract is up in October. I don't see any way he stays.

Interesting, he’ll be better utilised elsewhere. Wonder if Lana will try to leave with him..
