WWE’s Tag-Team Division has become a major point of interest for WWE officials lately.

WWE is looking to put together a strong and exciting Tag-Team Division heading into the fall. With a refreshing and new take on Tag Teams WWE has put together new teams such as current RAW tag-team champions Braun Strowman & Seth Rollins as well as Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode.

The main reason behind this focus on Tag Teams is AEW.

AEW’s Tag-Team Division will be lead by and produced by The Young Bucks. Matt & Nick Jackson will be spearheading the AEW Tag-Team Division that is sure to be explosive.

Vince McMahon requested to WWE officials that a solid WWE Tag-Team division be in place heading into the big WWE vs AEW war of fall 2019.

WWE is making it crystal clear that they refuse to fall behind AEW in any shape or form, from moving NXT to USA and now stacking up the Tag division. Stay tuned to Slice Wrestling for the latest updates.

Let's put the focus on tag teams! *books PPV tag title match with 2 teams comprised of singles stars that don't normally team together, who also ran thru established teams*

exactly. Slice Wrestling manages to completely miss the point here. and to top it off, the team of Ziggler and Roode is absurd... two guys that have been buried on the regular

lol. They do have some good teams but the Raw tag title match is between four guys that are normally singles competitors, and two of them have been buried beyond belief. And I cant remember the last team that held the smackdown titles that wasn't named the new day or the usos. Maybe Shane and the Miz? Another completely random team.

And dont get me started on the womens tag team division.

At least it's a step up for Braun - last time he was a tag champ, his partner was a 10-year old kid.

Meanwhile, word is that both members of AOP are healthy and return to the ring at any time. They just haven't been brought back because creative apparently doesn't have anything for them.

Yeah but Vince thinks he can just start pushing guys and it'll be fine.

Tag teams never made sense to begin with. Like wouldnt you just put the 2 best singles together and they would win? It's not like there is some complex strategy to tag team wrestling as opposed to singles.

Now, if you took the tagging aspect away, and just had 2 on 2, then it would make a lot more sense.

I could see Ziggler and Roode working similar to Sheamus/Cesaro. Two mid card guys stuck in mid and they get a nice run out of being together.

Disagree - if that was how it worked, all star games would be the best of the season & they never are. And plenty of championship sports teams win even though they have less talent.

Same with tag team wrestling.

So basically they are letting AEW decide where their focus will be. Yeah, letting the enemy dictate the terms of engagement always works out for the best.

Mid card?? Sheamus was their guy. Ziggler and Roode don’t even compare. They’re just jobbers who were put together to job to the champs.

Tag teams used to highlight cooperative moves that were protected so they could stand out as "Requiring these two to pull off"

It's a way of protecting decent talent that can't work as a singles push and use managers/ valet women.

Vince hates managers and protecting moves now so...

Yeah but tag team wrestling really isnt teams. Its like taking turns. There is very little legal teamwork involved.

Even most double team moves are illegal if the tagging wrestler doesnt leave the ring before the count of 5. No way you can set up a doomsday device or 3d before the count of 5.
