If you haven't finished it yet, don't bother.

Reading that was the worst 2 days of my life, and I'm a HUGE King fan!

Wow, I didn't think it was that bad.

I thought the ending left a lot to be desired, and i didn't like the ultimate fate of some of the characters, but I didn't think it was terrible.

What didn't you like about it Chango?

I loved it but agree the end seemed rushed even though it's 1079 pages?

I loved the first 900 pages, didn't like the ending so much.

I just finished Under the Dome a couple of days ago myself. I give it a 7 out of 10 overall. Probably could have gotten an 8 or better if story either had been continued or the last 100 pages didn't ruin the first 900.

Vitor29 - King jumped the shark many many years ago, and I used to be a huge fan.

Yep.

I read every book he wrote up to "From a Buick 8". I read half of it and realized I just didn't care enough to keep reading. I've only read one of his books since and it was terrible. (Lisey's story)

King lost me as a reader when his stuff started ballooning up.  When he writes tight, like in the Night Shift stories, he's great.  But I can't sit through his 1000 page books.

raoulDuke - dude he was writing long books during the night shift days as well

I tried to make it through the Stand but couldn't.  But books like Firestarter were great.

Man, I was going to read this, but it seems the consensus is that the ending sucks...

I liked it, but it seems that he had all these ideas and then went blank and rushed the ending. I see that it is already being discussed for a movie.

I've read pretty much all of SK's books and liked the vast majority. I liked Under the Dome for the first half or three quarters. Very weak, unimaginative ending imo.

The first 1000 pages of Under The Dome was the most entertaining thing he's written since Needful Things, IMO, however the last 90 pages or so are devastatingly bad.

At this point in his career, I think that Stephen King should hold online contests for other people to write the endings to his books.
