Surely I can’t be the only person hyped for The Division 2. I should have learned my lesson after the first one but considering the state The  Division is in now and the changes they have already shown for the new game, I’m super hyped.

Anyone else been keeping up with the changes coming to the new game?

Wouldn't say that I'm hyped but I'll probably end up getting the game.

The more I see and read about Anthem the less I'm into it.

Got the first game to play with friends and we had a good time with it for a couiple of months until they ruined it. It seems like Ubi did a lot to fix the game and hopefully that stuff carries over to the second game. In the end I'll either get Division 2 or Anrthem depending on what my friends want to play but right now I think we are all leaning toward this over Anthem but we still have over half a year to decide.

The Division was an amazing idea with terrible execution. Yes I've played since they "fixed" it, but it still leaves you wondering what could have been...

The changes I’ve seen and read about so far are all really encouraging. They are removing and changing a fair amount of gameplay elements that hurt the first game.

There are quite a few videos on YouTube about the changes. I will list out a few of the ones I'm most excited about.

Health and Armor for players and AI appears to be getting a major overhaul. Enemies will be less spongy, and players armor is now represented by a bar above their health meter. Med Kits are being replaced by armor plates, one plate will restore all health and armor but does have an animation that must be completed.

Most if not all healing skills appear to have been removed, which in theory will create a bigger emphasis on cover and smart movement. Interesting to see how the manage to add healers to the game.

Signature skills have been replaced by Specializations, which are basically special weapons and skills that will have their own separate skill tree and unlocks. So if you want to play as a sniper but have a grenade launcher for when shit gets real, you have that option now.

All weapon mods will have set attributes and will no longer take up inventory space. Each will fit a specific style of play. For example a muzzle break might give you better single shot accuracy but might lower your fire rate (strictly a hypothetical example.)

You will only be able to carry one type of grenade. Not sure if it will end up being a Borderlands style grenade mod or you just get to pick one of the grenade types from the first game, but you can only carry one type at a time.

All gear items will now have a "brand" which will basically operate as a form of gear sets. Each brand will set bonuses built into the gear. Most of the ones shown were only 2-4 piece bonuses.

Clans, 8 player raids, and a few other things I'm probably forgetting.

Looking forward to this. Due to the way we play games, the first one turned out perfectly for our group. Went through slowly over a couple of months, so didn't run into the grinding, darkzone, bugged everything, balance issues. It was just a great experience running each mission once, then dicking around on the map collecting skills until next level, then on to the next mission.

My buddy and I had the opposite experience. We finished all the story missions and side quests in the first 3/4 days. I also did a lot of the glitches and exploits early on in the game. I had top tier gear and guns, which basically made me a killing machine in the DZ. We also beat the first two incursions on the day they launched. Eventually the lack of content caught up to me and I stopped playing. I came back for a few of the big patches but most of my friends were done with the game and I eventually lost interest without a group to play with. All of us are hyped for Division 2 though.

Well after what feels like absolutely no news about the game for the past 6 months, they are holding a technical alpha test this weekend for the Division 2. I got an invite and can’t wait for Saturday morning when the servers go live.

I kept checking to see if I got in but it looks like it's pc only.

Oh well hopefully I can into the beta.

Yeah it’s pc only, too many hurdles to do tests like this on console. I had to sign a NDA as well.

Yeah heard that their nda is pretty strict.

I'd like to try the game on PC but my friends are on PS4 so I signed up for the beta on that.

I’m going to do the same thing I always do, pre order from amazon, get my beta code, cancel my preorder and then probably buy it a day or two before release.

I played probably 15-20 of the alpha over the weekend testing out everything I could.

After playing it are you still hyped for the game or cooled off a bit?

Still hyped, the stuff I was excited about it when it was announced turned out pretty good. Some cool new things that I didn’t expect. There a few things I didn’t care for or think need to be changed but that’s expected from an alpha.

There’s a special forum board for alpha testers and Ubisoft has been replying to a lot of people’s thoughts and concerns. I would expect a beta to happen late Jan/early Feb.

The Alpha NDA gets lifted on Thursday, so if anyone has any questions leave them in here and I’ll answer on Friday.

Watched some vids that came out and I'm starting to get hyped for the game. Installed the first game last night and going to get back in with my friends.

Yeah for anyone who has missed it, they have been doing a massive info dump the last two days, mostly covering the changes to the DZs and PvP. A lot of great stuff is coming out. Apparently the alpha NDA is still in effect though.
